18" Glass-Eyed, German Child by ABG

This is a very charming mold of an ABG child with very round, full cheeks, short, molded tight curls, and early spiral cobalt eyes. Not commonly found, I have had the pleasure of offering three in the past two years.

Her bisque head is perfect without damage and is on a chunky kid body with bisque lower arms. The body is the correct body for her and appears to be original. The arms are attached tightly to the body and do not have a wide range of motion. There is no sawdust leakage or other significant wear to note other than age related ageing of the kid leather.

She wears antique undies, an antique half slip and an early dress withdraw string gathers at the back. The dress is fragile and has some reinforcements from inside as the fabric is so thin and tore in a few places. It is still a very lovely period dress with lots of hand embroidery work at the upper bodice. She has replaced cotton socks but no shoes.

Her shoulder head alone measures just over 5" tall, 5" wide across the shoulders, and 3" deep.

Circa 1860.
