1800'S WATERCOLOR SET in Yew Wood Newstead Abby Box

1800's English Watercolor Paint Set in Yew (I think) Wood Box with front litho of Newstead Abby.

Box is approx. 1 1/2 by 6 by 8 inches.

How delightful....Looks like it is from Pride and Prejudice when all young girls of any breeding were expected to paint. Lady Catherine aske Elizabeth Bennet if she her other 4 sisters paint and Elizabeth answers..."Not a one" Lady Catherine replies..."Oh".

Lovely colored lithoed front with the abby in the background and a man, woman and dog in the forefront. Peacocks line the fence.

Door slides to reveal the lightly used interior.

3 original white porcelain water wells.

18 blocks of paint. Many unused with the seal on the front and the back...Imperial Watercolor.

Color names: Gamboge, Indigo, Vermillion etc.

Charming and very rare...
