Early Black Cloth Lady Doll Oil Painted
Black Cloth Painted Doll. She is a 15 inch all cloth doll dating to early 1900. The doll has an oil painted face. I have seen a couple of dolls with similar painting technique so this may have been a cottage industry. The upper body arms and feet are also painted. The doll is wearing all the original clothing a red check dress, pantaloons, slip, apron and shawl. The dolls have sewn joints and it is stitched across at the elbow and knees so she can sit. She is in very good condition.
