Antique English Sterling SWEETHEART BROOCH - (Love Bird, Hearts, Flowers, Crescent), c1876
Charming, English Sterling Silver Sweetheart Brooch (Bar Pin), consisting of a Love Bird, a Crescent with embossed Hearts and Forget Me Nots Flowers! Note the silver beads (balls) on the edge of the Crescent. Also, a silver 'ribbon' loops and curls near the two ends of the Brooch. The piece is hallmarked on the reverse for Birmingham, 1876-7, the maker's mark not sharp enough to make out even under magnification. Measures 1" x 15/16" with a C-Clasp. Beautifully made Victorian Love Jewelry, in fine condition. The piece is Silver and is picking up amber reflections of the room while being photographed.
