This is a fabulous antique victorian photo album with working front clasp and lovely flowered designs on two of the front corners. The flowers actually have a cherubs face in each one. The album itself is green velvet with some wear and the silver plate metal parts have some patina but this album is in overall great shape. It measures 13 1/2" wide X 10 1/4" tall X 3" thick. The back appears to have had a stand at some point in time but it is not longer there. The cover opens in the middle to display 4 places for pictures going across (2 on each side) and that is how it is throughout the album, openings measure 3 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" tall - it will hold 52 pictures. The binding on the right hand side is partially unattached from the binding but one does not notice this if the album is layed on a flat surface as the pages are being flipped. A few of the pages (which are designed cardboard )have some small tears and the paper separators are browned with age. Wonderful album for the collector or a perfect way to display those important pictures.
