An antique oil on canvas painting still life of apples spilling out of a hat that is signed in the lower right corner M.L. Wood 1903. This came out of a NH Estate. Heavy craquelure are visibly evident throughout this piece. The frame is a wooden one that like so many has been painted over gold. The inner liner of the frame is a bit loosened up but we may be able to secure that with a little help on its existing nails. The red color that seems to be peeking thru the crackle in this paint leads us to think that perhaps this work was painted over an earlier work. Measurements are 16.75 by 20. 75 inches sight size, 24.12 by 28.12 inches framed.
