WOW!!!!! OUTSTANDING 1850's Rococo rosewood Victorian center table attributed to J. & J. Meeks with a oval white marble top (VERY MINOR wear to top). Very similar tables are shown on page 130 of "American Furniture of the 19th Century" by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. It has a undulating open laminated carved skirt that features a cluster of petal flowers with foliage on all four sides. There is a similar floral carving at the top of each of the graceful legs. Four open carved stretchers support a gorgeous central C-scrolled carved finial. It sits on the original brass castors. The center table is the focal point of the Victorian living room. This table is one of the best and made by one of the premier NYC Victorian firms of the period. It is in the remarkable original condition that the sophisticated collectors covet! Circa: 1850 Dimensions (widest points noted): 30"H x 46"W x 31"D Finish: Excellent original finish with deep rich patina. The vibrant stunning grain of the rosewood is on full display.
