Oak & Cast Iron Dictionary Stand
This is a wonderful old turn of the century iron and oak dictionary stand in perfect working order. As it is pictured, it stands 48" high, and can easily be raised about 4" or lowered about 12" The fancy hinged mechanism which supports the book rest is all there, is original, and is perfect in operation and original finish. The stand has the usual sweeping and embossed legs ending at the original and perfect small casters. The book rests themselves can be spread a few inches from their pictured position, and can be inclined further or made more vertical. All in all, it is a highly adjustable, perfectly working unit. It also has the usual 13"x8" revolving book rest just above the juncture of the 4 legs. The paint on all of the iron is perfect, and it appears that the oak book rests have been refinished at some point. Feel free to ask any questions you might have . The unit easily comes apart for easy shipping.
