A lovely Nippon Ewer or pitcher with handpainted roses in a delicate shade of pink and gold enamel decoration throughout. Stands 7" to top of the handle with the blue maple leaf mark on the bottom and 'handpainted Nippon', often referred to as the "#52 mark". Circa:1891-1911 Condition: VG, No chips, cracks or hairlines, there is wear to the handle and a few of the gold enamel beading, also there are 3 scratches near the bottom where it slopes up (can be seen in the photo of the bottom signature), the scratches do not show when displayed. Please note the circular fade mark you see in the first picture near the bottom is light reflection not damage.
