Art Deco Era Celluloid Pin Cushion by Du Barry
The Art Deco era brought us so many things to still treasure today and this fabulous celluloid pin cushion is one of them. Made by the Du Barry company, they called it 'ivory pyralin' but it is in fact celluloid, you can see the beautiful lines. This has the original pin cushion which removes from the base so you can store little things inside it. It comes to you with the goodies I found inside this one, after holding it upside down and having everything roll out on my floor. That's how I know if comes off.
It measures 4.5" across the bottom and stands about 2.5" tall from the bottom to the top of the cushion. It is signed on the bottom as shown in the photos. It is in excellent vintage condition with a small tiny chip at the very bottom at the corner of the base, and I have priced it to reflect a flaw that you will not notice. Lovely on a dressing table.
