Vintage Silk Hand Painted Magnolias Floral Artist Signed Japanese Scarf Wrap Mid Century
This is a beautiful vintage silk hand painted and artist signed Asian scarf or wrap from the Mid Century. This is one of two that I purchased at a recent estate sale where the people had lived and traveled the globe. I love to find these beautiful Asian things, this is most likely Japanese. The seams are Frenched and it is just beautifully made on a silk fabric with a woven design as you can see in the photos. The fringed border is equally detailed. Hand painted magnolias in bloom and budding are featured on this, and you can see the artist's signature in the block in the traditional Japanese method. It measures 50" in length and is 6" wide. It appears to have never been used. There are a couple of very tiny, remember that the camera makes everything huge, little spots that appear to be climate stains, but I cannot be sure. I am pricing this so it can be taken to your dry cleaner. In any event, it is stunning and you will not notice the tiny areas. Imagine wrapping your neck in this beauty on a chilly day. Or using it as a belt. Endless possibilities here. It is very soft to the touch. You will be pleased.
