Timber Ridge Ocean Jasper Teardrop Earrings with Karen Hill Tribe Silver Leaves

Inspired by the vivid poetry of actor Thorsten Kaye (Zach on "All My Children") and Dorothy Bridges in the book "From Timber Ridge to Daymer Gardens A Journey In Words," these earrings have simple, clean lines. They begin with a lovely dark grey and white ocean jasper teardrops, which are given leafy Bali silver caps with tiny corrugated rondelles. Beneath a second silver rondelle hangs a lovely silver leaf, hand-crafted by the Karen Hill Tribe of Thailand. The Hill Tribes of Thailand mine and purify their own silver, and the result is 99.5% pure, not 92.5% like sterling. To keep it clean and shiny, use a bit of lime juice and a soft cloth, not jewelry cleaner! The earrings hang 1 3/4 inches below the sterling earwires, and have clear soft rubber earnuts to keep them securely in place, as well as ziplock bags to keep away tarnish.

Jaspers are one form of chalcedony - a large family of microcrystalline quartz. Chalcedonies include such stones as bloodstone, carnelian, etc. Jaspers often contain differing sedimentary minerals, including shards or pigmentation from other individual chalcedonies. They are a very fascinating arm of the quartz crystal family!

Magickal lore tells us that Jaspers have "cooling" energy. The are said to encourage healing and longevity, assist with sleep problems, and their extensive use in the ancient world as amulets denotes the protective vibe that jaspers bring. This stone, which grows in many colors and types, has been indicated as increasing health and feelings of well-being, lessening fear under stress, and promoting the courage to manifest your dreams! Jasper helps you to stay anchored even while doing meditative or Astral work, and nurtures you even while helping you to learn new ways to nurture others. It is a wonderful stone family which is very helpful to work with and wear.

The eye-patterns of ocean jasper have been used for millenia by all cultures for warding off negative energy and harmful thoughts from others. Jaspers in general are all protective, by their nature. These stones have many differing patterns, often insinuating ocean creatures, waves, diatoms, etc.

Ocean jasper helps us tune into our nurturing and self-healing abilities, and the various patterns are wonderful for promoting meditation and breathing exercises. On a side note, ocean jasper is considered a Shamanic stone in many indigenous cultures.

Also, the lovely stone bears oceanic Element of Water gifts, such as learning how better to love one's self and thereby others more honestly, without any trips or games... and healing for emotional wounds we have experienced. Working with this stone at the heart chakra will assist us in evolving into Beings who are able to love honestly and unconditionally, but not co-dependently - a lesson which we must never stop learning if we are to integrate more of our Higher Selves into our everyday life!

In addition, this jasper strengthens one's resolve in carrying out tasks for which we are responsible, helping increase patience and diligence.

All of our pieces are one of a kind, and designed with a true love of the glorious gemstones of Mother Earth. Thank you for looking, and Brightest Blessings!
