Art Nouveau Gilt Metal Mantel Clock 8 Day Time & Chime
An attractive 15 inches tall Art Nouveau clock with original finish. Gilt spelter case is in almost perfect condition, just a little wear to the gilding at the top and side scrolls where the clock would be lifted when moving, does not distract from its beauty ( please enlarge all the photos). The case with no cracks, dents or repairs. The French unsigned serial # 1513 movement is of high quality, but not the original to the case. It has been recently cleaned, oiled and adjusted. The clock runs and chimes on a bell on the hour and half hour very accurately. The 3.25 inch porcelain dial is just about perfect, just a faint hairline between 1 & 2 o'clock in minute track that's very hard to see.
The beveled glass to protect the dial and fancy delicate hands is perfect, no cracks, chips or scratches. The clock is heavy, weight 10 pounds.
