It is WONDERFULLY ORNATE with an abundance of a raised EMBOSSED FLORAL motif, typical of the ART NOUVEAU period, and original curved DAINTY FEET! It is made of GILDED METAL, possibly brass or copper, with normal wear to the gilding, and is in DISPLAY READY condition! When opened it reveals it's original light French BLUE SILK lining and cording on both the interior lid and bottom; there is some melting and dust accumulation to the silk, but the RARITY of it being intact after so many years will overcome it's condition issues!
