RARE Antique Miniature Doll Dresden Candy Container Box!

This CHARMING little box was most likely used as a confectioner's container in the late 1800's to house bon bons or other mouth watering sweets that a courting gentleman would give his sweetheart, and will be COVETED by your FAVORITE POUPEE as a FRENCH FASHION miniature accessory item!

It has EXCEPTIONAL DETAIL, made with the ORIGINAL fancy LITHOGRAPH PAPER in VIBRANT colors of deep blues, orange, reds and greens! The paper is a WHIMSICAL combination of paisleys, stripes and plaids, but it all works together CHARMINGLY! The box has a very UNIQUE with slightly convex sides and rounded ends, and when opened it reveals a tiny compartment to store candies or other TINY TREASURES! It is in slightly worn shape with the paper edges starting to lift in some places, but overall all the paper is present and still very colorful and will DISPLAY NICELY!

The box measures a DIMINUTIVE 1 3/8" tall, and is 2 1/2" long and 1 3/4" wide. We have shown it being modeled by our 13" antique French Fashion doll for scale purposes, who is probably thinking of a DOZEN ways to use this FANCY little container----the PERFECT piece to accessorize early PAPER MACHES or WOODEN dolls as well!
