MAGNIFICENT Rare Antique Miniature French Fashion Doll Upholstered Sofa and Presentation Box!

An EXQUISITE EXAMPLE of a Victorian miniature piece of furniture that is the PERFECT SCALE for Fashion dolls or small Bebes, this wonderful sofa also doubles as a PRESENTATION BOX, as the seat lifts up to reveal a SILK LINED interior compartment to house a small hand mirror and/or brush and comb set!

The sofa measures 13" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 10" high to the top of the back and 4" high to the top of the seat, which measures 11 1/2" long by 5" deep! It's many original FABULOUS features include original RED SILK fabric, ELABORATELY TUFTED seat and back, worn but original RED VELVET frontspiece and interior frame, original sturdy EXTERIOR CANVAS type fabric, tiny BRASS STUDS, along the bottom of each side, and fabulous original fancy brass DECORATIVE GROMMETS on the sides of the top frame and on one of the side of the arms (the other is missing).

The seat cushion opens to reveal a silk lined compartment (silk has deteriorated on inside lid), which looks as though it may have been used as a VANITY or PRESENTATION BOX of some kind; our guess is that it probably contained a vanity set as there is a latch to hold a mirror or other similar item------------we absolutely love it's DUAL PURPOSE, but are enchanted with it as a BEAUTIFULLY FASHIONED miniature piece of furniture! It is in overall GOOD CONDITION, with expected wear and an old repair to one of arms, but the tufted silk fabric is in AMAZING SHAPE and is DISPLAY READY for your collection!
