Victorian Paste Shoulder Duster Pierced Earrings

Here we have the most amazing pair of earrings that I have ever seen. Each earring features a 9 piece construction that brings them to their 4'' drop from the bottom of the ear wire. Incredibly they have retained their original pierced ear wires.

The brilliant paste stones are set with closed backs in a silver toned metal. At their widest they are 1-1/2''. A substantial pair to be sure. The only markings that I have found are 185 on the back of the drops.

I have noticed about 45 paste stones missing but they are well worth the trouble and time to repair. The tear drops measure about 7/8'' x 1/2''. This truly brilliant pair of estate earrings dates to the Victorian era.
