Classic Antique Limoges Beauty Famous French Artist Signed "A. BRONSSILLON" Sumptuous Masterpiece "ROMANTIC TEA ROSES" PLAQUE Charger Plate Hand-painted Victorian Floral Art Fine Porcelain Heirloom China Painting George Borgfeldt Coronet Circa 1900
This is truly a Gorgeous Antique Limoges hand painted Fine Art Plaque, signed by the famous French floral artist: 'A. BRONSSILLON', who is listed and prominently featured in all current reference books regarding collecting antique hand painted Limoges porcelain. This artist is very well known for his bold and deeply colorful ROSE PAINTINGS upon Limoges porcelain.
This prominent European artist used a wonderful color palette of rich vibrant tones including orange and deep burgundy reds, with absolutely luscious LARGE TEA ROSES hand painted in STRIKING SHADES OF VIBRANT PINK ~ LINEN WHITE ~ SHERBERT ORANGE and GORGEOUS BURGUNDY ~ nestled in fabulous rich deep rustic red and green foliage ~ set against a strong and dark to light orange background, highlighted with shades of yellows, sherbet orange, and a burgundy wine.
The lavish scalloped French Rococo framed border of this classic Limoges art heirloom is elegantly highlighted with heavy Roman Gold, with embossed gold Medallions on both sides, and a luxurious jewel -like beading which creates an elegant serpentine necklace. Truly one of the most beautiful french porcelain molds! I find two extremely minor surface areas of paint loss ~ one near the lighter green leaf, and the other within the burgundy rose petals ~ otherwise in Near to Mint condition ~ no scratches, no gold loss, no chips, cracks, or hairlines. Please excuse the lighting that has caused small white flash spots to appear in the photos. This piece is truly in near immaculate condition preserved within a lustrous glass overglaze finish.
This beauty measures 9 3/4 inches in diameter. Marked underneath with the Limoges, France, mark 6, underglaze white ware mark in green, circa 1891, and the George Borgfeldt Coronet, mark 1, overglaze decorating mark in green, circa 1906. Please email me if you have any questions. Thank you so very much for viewing my "pretties".
Note: Plaques were specifically created to be pieces of art to hang on a wall. Plaques are round and most were decorated in a factory studio and signed by a French factory artist. Plaques range from 8 to 32 inches in diameter. Artist signed pieces are in great demand. I am also offering the Second Gorgeous Plate shown with this beauty in a separate listing.
