This is such a lovely, delicate Limoges Vase - this was one of my first Limoges vases. It has a feminine, dainty shape and is exquisitely hand painted. I do not see a signature unless it is so stylized into the painting that I can't see it; but the artist has painted wonderful Roses; delicately shaded and with intricate attention to detail. The Roses encircle the top bulbous part of the vase with their leaves tucked around them and their vining branches inter-connecting the flowers. There is intricate Gold scroll work on either side of the border. The upper rim and inner neck is painted in Gold as well. All against a soft, pale blue background. It is sweet perfection!
The Vase stands about 5 1/8" tall, 3 3/4" across it's widest width and has a circumference of about 10 1/2" around. It is delicate and a sweet size to tuck anywhere you like.
It is marked with Charles Martin mark 1, after 1891.
