Absolutely Gorgeous Limoges Swan Handled Jardiniere with Handpainted Chrysanthemums and Very, Very Heavy & Rich Gold
The Jardiniere stands about 6" tall, 10 1/2" across it's widest width including the handles and has a circumference of about 27 3/4" around.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. The Gold is still rich and thick, there is some Gold rubbing on the handles where it was lifted over the years; which is certainly not unusual for this shape and the way it would be moved. The painting is strong and assured with lovely colors; the Gold gleams with richness and this mold is fabulous.
There is no mark, however this mold was manufactured many, many times with no mark. It is absolutely guaranteed Limoges; it can be referenced in Mary Gastons Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges porcelain on Page 156. If marked, it is usually marked with the Bawo & Dotter mark 8, 1891-1900.
