English 9K Antique Ivory Cherub Angel with Wings Carving Cameo Brooch

He is carved from pre ban elephant tusk and the grain is visible.

The color is more even than the photos depict.

There are no chips and there is no damage.

The lines on the wing may be natural and seem to be only on the surface and are very shallow.

The pin back is English 9K Gold hallmarked with an anchor and the letter O.

The O is at a slant but the date I find with a regular O and an anchor is Birmingham, England 1863.

Birmingham has marked their gold since 1824 using a background of a square with cut corners as this mark has.

There are the numbers 9 and 375 which is the assay mark for 9 karat.

The clasp is in perfect working order.

It is from each wing tip 1-7/8 inches wide

and 1-9/16 inches tall - a little over 1-1/2in

and 3/4 inch thick

It's not small and is almost 3 dimensional

Queen Victoria's daughter, Princess Louise wore one and even wore it in her engagement photo.
