EAPG Antique glass tray Balky Mule Bellaire c. 1890

An antique glass water tray depicting a scene from a Currier and Ives Darktown series of prints. This is known as Balky Mule and we can see why. The scene shows an oncoming train and a mule that is giving the cart driver a hard time getting over the tracks. We just love the detail in this piece. The rim is raised and hows a daisy and button pattern.

Manufactured by the Bellaire Glass Co and dates to ca.1890. This was also produced by the Cooperative Flint Glass Co.;

Measures 12.25 inches wide and does show seeds and bubbles within the glass. We did not find any cracks or chips. Pretty nice condition considering its age.
