An antique porcelain cake plate with a still life rendering of grapes on the vine in the center. The finely detailed transfer was applied then a factory artist enhanced the decoration with hand painting. The small grape stems are detailed in hand painted black and the grapes are highlighted with white. The grapes sit against a background of deep burgundy, teal & cream. To finish the plate we have coin gold enameling decoration of swirls around the rim and handles. You'll see a bit of wear here but very little. The gold is ~90% intact.
The hallmark on this beautiful piece is from the Zeh Scherzer & Co. factory in Bavaria and tells us that it was manufactured c. 1900.
Measuring 10.5" handle to handle x 9.75" we find just a smidgen of wear to the decoration as stated above. Still in wonderful antique condition without damage to porcelain. A beautiful gift for the wine lover!
