Victorian lap writing desk inlaid wood mother of pearl original inkwells

An Victorian wood lap desk that features a Mother of Pearl inlaid design. The lid has a variety of woods that make up the scroll pattern. Along the edge we see more wood and MOP trim. The interior features the original glass ink wells and dividers. The writing surface is a board covered in black with a gold foil edge.

We are unable to determine a manufacturer for this as we did not find a single hallmark. This is possibly English in origin and we would date this to the late 19th Century for a time period.

Measuring 13" long, 9" wide, and just over 5" tall, we find this to be in excellent antique condition with only crease wear to the top and just a few small spots on the front that have been dinged. This was stored for many years and still retaining its original key for the lock.
