An antique pattern glass toothpick depicting a dog chasing a rabbit. The scene has a rabbit's head sticking out of one side of the toothpick and the dogs rear quarters sticking out of the other side. The holder itself is made to look like a tree stump. This is all very clever and the detail is amazing.
According to our sources, the manufacturer on this is unknown. Based on the glass and the subject we would place this in the last quarter of the 19th Century.
Measuring 2.5" tall with the base at 3.25" in diameter. There is a flake off the bottom rim which shows on the outside base rim as a tiny ding. We have pictured this area. The tail on the dog is there which is unusual for this particular toothpick holder. We see a divot out of it but we think this was done in manufacturing.
