An antique pair of safety glasses or goggles in their original box. These feature a silver metal frame with adjustable bows. The lenses are glass that have a slight yellow tint to them and a round shape. The safety aspect are the side shields that are also metal and have mesh interiors.
Manufactured by Universal, we see a patent date on the front of the original box of June 22, 1907.
The lens area measures 4 3/4 inches in width. The bows measure 4 inches in length to the curve; being able to extend out a bit more to wrap around the ear. We find that one lens does have a sliver of glass missing near the top frame area. Other than that, these are in great condition for their age. Shields as well as the bows move fine on their hinges. Comes with its original box as shown.
