Vintage glass butter churn Dazey #4 red ball c. 1940s

A vintage glass butter churn featuring wooden paddles. The glass is a pinched design and the gears are encased in the red football shaped handle on the top. This is a 4 quart size hence the #4 reference on the bottom of the jar.

This particular style dates to the WWII era. In October 1944, Daisy redesigned their churn and were only making the 8 quart and 4 quart with the bulb handle and clover leaf or tulip shaped glass jar. These were the only manual Dazey butter churns to have the gears enclosed.

We see the original whey screen on top; many times this is missing. There is a bit of paint wear to the red football. Glass is in perfect condition as well as the wooden paddles.
