A vintage porcelain patch or snuff box featuring ormolu brass mounts that frame both bottom and top. The outside of the lid has a portrait area showing a carriage and horses with a driver and two passengers. The portrait is framed in a fine line of gold with just a touch showing wear. The inside of the lid holds a mirror.
The hallmark of a hyphenated Czecho slovakia in red telling us that this dates to c. 1918-1920. The blue of the porcelain is a deep cobalt and very popular during this time frame.
We did not find any damage to brass or porcelain. The bottom is unglazed and the piece measures 3 inches in diameter.
