Vintage Sambo ashtray made in Japan hand painted Black Americana

A vintage personal ashtray featuring the Sambo character. The features on the face are hand painted and still very colorful. There is a handle for carrying. The material is pottery with a high gloss finish.

Marked with Japan on the bottom we would place this in the 1920's for a time frame prior to WW II.

Measuring 4.5" long to tip of handle with the ash area measuring 2.25" diameter. It is in fine vintage condition without any damage and just a bit of wear to the original paint.
