Antique biscuit jar nude portrait flow blue Rosenthal Porcelain c.1898

An antique porcelain jar that features a portrait of two partially nude maidens on the front. The portrait is in an oval frame decorated with a gold band and raised beading. The overall color is a deep cobalt blue that is enhanced with gold foiling around the remainder of the jar.

The hallmark is from Philip Rosenthal & Co, Bavaria, Germany telling us that this was manufactured c. 1898. We also find the bottom marked with the mold name Monbijou. Replacements calls this Women in Marsh on one side for a pattern name and the pattern number as R1745.

Measuring 6 1/4 inches high and 5 inches wide across the bottom we find both jar and lid to be free from chips, cracks or crazing. A stunning portrait piece in outstanding antique condition!
