Vintage salt glazed stoneware pitcher pancakes maple syrup brown glaze primitive kitchen

A vintage stoneware pitcher used for pancake batter or maple syrup. This features a dark brown salt glazed finish on the exterior of lid and pitcher. The interior is a clear glaze. The applied handle is thick and sturdy to handle a full weight. This is a heavy piece and when you remove the lid, you can smell remnants of maple syrup.

We did not find any markings on this to assist in identifying a maker. We would place this no later than the end of the first quarter of the 20th century.

Measuring a large 7.5 inches tall with the base having a 25 inches circumference. We find a few bites on the exterior and a grazed area on the bottom rim. Absolutely none of this takes away from this early piece. It can be used in today's kitchen without a problem.
