Antique glass covered compote Lion Cable Richards & Hartley c. 1880

An antique glass compote featuring a frosted crouching lion on the lid. This is narrow at top and bottom and flares out in the center where dish and lid meet. We see a cable pattern on lid and pedestal base.

Manufactured by Richards & Hartley this is the Lion & Cable #525 pattern also known as Crouching Lion and Tiny Lion. Dates to c. 1880s.

Measuring 9.5" to top of lion finial, we find this to be in wonderful antique condition with just a small nip off of the underside of the lid.
