Antique inkwell Doberman dog porcelain insert bronze

An antique bronze inkwell featuring the shape of a majestic Doberman dog. The canine shows a keen stare with pointed ears and a lovely blue / black finish. His mouth opens wide to show us the original porcelain insert hidden inside to hold the ink.

If you are collector of inkwells or just love dogs, this item is for you. It sits flat as a stand alone item. We do not believe it was ever attached to another base. He / She is almost 3.5" high to the top of it's ears and the base measures just over 2".

There are some rough areas near the top of both ears but we believe this to be from the original making. We also see a thumbprint on the finish when first done. The right eye has a repair which may have been after casting. The hinge works beautifully and the porcelain insert is without damage.
