ES Prussia portrait bowl chickadee hand painted

An early porcelain bowl featuring a detailed portrait of a red breasted swallow or chickadee sitting on a branch. Full of spring with the background colors a lovely pink and green with shadowed yellow daffodils. The bird shows black and white feathers with a black head and a red breast that reaches to its face.

The E.S. Prov. Sxe mark with 'hand painted' shows on the bottom telling us this is an early item from this factory; c. 1900.

Measuring 9.25" in diameter and 2" deep we find a tiny nick to the rim as you can see in our pictures. Other than this small area, there is no other damage. A really great gift for the bird lover in your life.
