Original Currier & Ives print The Old Farm Gate

An original Currier & Ives print recently obtained at a local antique auction. This is "The Old Farm Gate" and you can see from our pictures that is in really great condition. The colors are vibrant and bright so we believe this was not hung near sunlight and may have been stored for quite some time. We see children out near the farm gate, some hanging on it, others by their Newfoundland dog and cart. There are chickens in the background and the old farm house. A very charming scene.

Printed on the bottom is the following:

FF Palmer, DEL Entered according to Act of Congress, D 1864 Currier & Ives NY

A poem by Eliza Cook is also printed on both sides of the title.

There is one area on the bottom just under the title that shows a bit of water damage. This is easily restored. There are no rips, tears or repairs that we could find. Some foxing but all around in great shape for the age on this. Measures just over 13" long x 10.5" tall.

If you do not want the frame that is shown in our last picture, we will ship without. This listing is for the print itself. Let us know if ordering without the frame and we can adjust the shipping amount accordingly.
