Coiffe Limoges fish set hand painted signed Mulville EXQUISITE!
The LR&L hallmark is associated with the Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman decorating firm. The Coiffe mark tells us that this factory was the manufacture of the fine porcelain. Both marks help us date to c. 1920's. Muville was the LR&L artist that painted each of these pieces and the signature can be found on the bottom right portion of the platter. The LR&L studio was not in business very long which makes this an exceptional find.
Measurements: The platter is 24" by 10" wide in the very center. Each individual plate is 9.25" in diameter.
Condition: The platter has a chip at the right bottom with a flake off the back associated with the damage. We also find a line in the glaze on the back that does not show through to the front. We have 2 individual plates with flakes off the back as well. That's it. None of this is a detriment to the display quality and could easily be repaired if you so choose. We have taken in to account these issues when pricing this set.
Please email us for additional pictures as we are only allowed 9 here and we do have close-ups of the damaged areas.
If you are a Limoges collector - this is a super fine display group; certainly one of a kind.
