Vintage Wedding Hostess Apron

This is one of the most unusual wedding or hostess aprons I have ever seen! These aprons were popular during the fifties and sixties and were often given as gifts by the bride to her friends/relatives who served at the reception.

Instead of being made of sheer white nylon or polyester like most of the wedding aprons of that time, this hostess apron is made of a rather stiff white net material. The apron has a shorter, over-lapping piece with a lace-trimmed and green embroidered pocket adorned with plastic greenery and wedding bell accents. The edges of the apron are lace-trimmed and there are three (one is missing) plastic daisies with satin bows.

If that were not enough, there are also sequins above the bottom edge of the apron. The ribbon waist measures 1/2" wide and it is 16" from one end of the waistband to the other with 23" ties on each side. It is 17" long.

This apron, aside from the one missing plastic daisy, is in absolutely excellent condition with no tears or holes in the netting whatsoever.
