This great old work was by John J. Anderson, Ph.D. and printed in 1893 by Maynard, Merrill & Co. It is "New Manual of General History, with particular attention to ancient and modern civilization with numerous engravings and maps for the use of colleges, high schools, academies, etc." The first part is Ancient History and the second is Medieval and Modern History. The inside has in ink "John Fitz Randolph from his grandfather John J. Anderson Brooklyn, Jan. 19, 1894." Opposite this is a pasted down illustration of the author.

This piece is app. 7.5"x5" with 685 pages. It has cloth over hard boards with embossing. It is in good to very good condition overall with some corner, edge, spine wear and bumping. The binding is tight and all pages intact. The inside is clean overall and there are no offensive odors.
