Antique Spanish American War Santiago Sterro- Photo Stereoview Patriotic Soldier Wife Set Series of 6

This neat circa 1898-1900 set is a story that confronts many a soldier's wife or sweetheart. This series chronicles a young man's call to the service of his country and the pain this causes his beloved. This was a call to participate in the Spanish American War. The series starts with his plans to join and her crestfallen expression. Next, he is taking his final leave as they hug. His sweetheart is broken-hearted as she reads in his letter "Even more would I do for my country"...She next receives the news that Jack has fallen at Santiago! This scene has a crumpled letter in her hand as she lies motionless across the floor. We see her then wearing black as he comes through the door with his arm in a sling...wounded but not killed. The last photo has her sitting on his lap as he recounts the battle. These wonderful black and white images pop-out 3D when viewed with a stereoscope or stereo viewer. These were by the Sterro-Photo Company. They are in very good condition overall with no offensive odors - ready for the generations to come to enjoy!
