Antique Textile Bedspread Sculptured Matelasse Coverlet Free Shipping
This is a beautiful white antique woven Matelasse bedspread that measures 76 inches x 80 inches. It is in superb condition with no stains or storage marks. There is one very small thin spot in the cloth. They were used on beds as summer bed coverlets and also good for extra covering folded at the end of the bed. The sculptured fine texture detail with complex design make each Matelasse cotton coverlet a true work of art. The design is so varied, it is hard to describe, please see photos for close-ups. The center medallion is a lovely detailed star, there are circular fancy scrolls with fleur de leis , geometric diamonds and triangles filled with flowers, cross hatching and more! Outside of a couple of tiny thread pulls, this antique coverlet looks near mint, superbly preserved.(rl-16)
