Chowdertown New England Charlotte Sternberg 1986 Limited Edition Print Custom Framed
Recalling Mother Moses, this charming New England Township entitled “Chowdertown” evokes the simple pleasures of family, friends, of belonging. It is a limited edition by Charlotte Joan Sternberg, 1986, sold out long ago at the publishers and available only when you can find it on the secondary market. It is #490 of 1000 signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.
Custom gallery framed, triple coordinating matted with a fine oak frame. It is in very fine condition with a sealed conservation back complete with authenticating certification. It looks like the print is a bit loose in the frame and may need to be opened, reset and the paper re-applied to the back. The image opening measures 19.5 by 39” , the frame measures 28” by 47.25”
Artist noted: “This little town is completely a figment of my imagination. I had great fun designing and painting it, creating the streets and alleys, and the people….New England is my home, and I love it: my memory is full of its buildings and trees, hills and streams, and always, the sea.
