Antique Black Mark Ironstone Alfred Meakin Casserole Covered Vegetable Bowl Circa 1890s

: In such fine condition, this lovely Rococo covered vegetable casserole is lovely in stark white with fine gold trim. The fancy scallop on the lid is repeated in the skirt of the handled vegetable dish base which flares out then narrows to the footed scallop base. The scroll acanthus leaf finial and relief decoration make this such a beautiful covered vegetable bowl. You will delight in adding this to your ironstone dinnerware collection or using it as a beautiful accent piece for your table. The base of the ironstone vegetable bowl measures 11.5 inches handle to handle by approximately 8 inches wide at the skirt of the base by approx. 6 inches high to the covered lid. It is so rare to find ironstone in this superb condition with no chips, cracks, and retaining 95+of the fine gold trim. The mark is the early black mark. “Alfred Meakin Ltd. Royal Ironstone, England.”
