18k Gold Rose Cut Diamond Victorian Niello Brooch

This lovely, antique brooch features a rose cut diamond in a rather interesting shape with both a bezel and prong setting. There is enameling behind the diamond and on the oval border around the center. The most impressive portion of this piece is the detailed work on the outside; there are fine patterns and Niello on the outside. Hanging from the bottom is a Fleur de Lis design with hanging drops. The back has a period T-bar and covered C-clasp. This brooch dates circa 1870-1890 and is in excellent condition.

This pin measures 2 7/16" (61mm) tall, 1 11/16" (42.5mm) wide and weighs 17.1 grams.
