This offering is for a stunning Victorian fan that has hand carved bone guards and sticks. The silk gauze mount is ivory colored and is decorated with tiny round silver, gold and copper colored discs. The large cameo is hand painted and framed by the decorative metallic like discs. A lady is portrayed, wearing a beautiful blue gown. Cherubs in flight surround her. They are adorable. There are also several hand painted flowers and foliage on other portions of the fan. The bone ivory colored guards and sticks are carved and pierced, with black decoration. The fan's size when opened is 9 ¼" high x 17 ½". CONDITION: There is no damage to the bone guards and sticks. The only issue has to do with the fragile nature of the fabric. The fabric has pulled away from a guard on the back and is 2" long. There is also a very small tear on the back 1" long. The edge of the fan is completely intact. Considering the fan's age and material, I would consider the fan to be in excellent condition. It should be displayed, not used, and would be stunning framed.
