Adorable 18" Hertel & Schwab 152 Character Baby Doll

This offering is for a beautiful old cross limb bisque head character baby doll. The mold is 152 and it was made for export by Hertel and Schwab to the American distributor, Louis Wolf & Co. Therefore, the head is marked "152//L.W. & Co.//11 for the distributor. The 18" baby girl has a beautiful bisque head, with perfect pale coloring and blushing (no rubs here). She has replaced German blue glass stationary eyes, feathered brows, red eye corner and nostril marks and an open mouth with 4 upper teeth. There is an old tight hairline that extends from the rim downward, ending above the eye (see photo) It is not visible when baby wears her mohair wig. Her original German chunky body is in very good original condition. The varnish has darkened in some places and there is minor flaking at the opening of the neck. It is factory marked "6" on the limbs and thorax. Dolly's hands show some scuffing, but all her fingers are present. Her outfit is just as pretty as can be. It consists of a peachy pink satin like dress, with a petal shaped hemline, undergarments and vintage booties. Her bonnet is old, made of light weight organdy with lace trim. Although not perfect, the price has been greatly reduced for a cabinet sized beautiful doll that is display ready . She is delightful--guaranteed to meet all of your expectations.
