28" Kestner 154 Doll, Gorgeous Original Dress

This 154 marked doll by Kestner is a real beauty, wears her original silk sand satin dress, and is display ready. The bisque shoulder head is in excellent condition. There are no factory flaws, damage or restoration. The bisque is very fine, is naturally colored and has especially fine blushing (no rubs or kiss marks). The features are beautiful and include: thick, finely feathered eyebrows; large, original blue, sleep eyes that function well; molded upper eye lids; finely painted upper and lower lashes; red eye corner dots; red nostril dots; open mouth; lovely smile; perfect upper teeth. One eye appears a bit higher than the other, but the sockets show no gaps and the fit is secure inside the head. Dolly wears a light blonde full all curled wig. It adds a special touch with consideration given to the color of her outfit and complexion. The back is marked "Dep. 154 13." The original kid body has riveted knee and hip joints. The lower portions of the legs are cork stuffed muslin. The arms have finely blushed bisque lower arms. The body is in very good condition, with no leaks or mends. There are dark brown stains on the back of the body clearly shown in a photo. My best guess is that the stains are age darkened varnish. Varnish may have been used to finish a composition body, close to this body, and a spill occurred. The gorgeous outfit consists of silk and satin of a light butter color. The jacket is finely fitted and closed with snaps, with very old buttons hand sewn over the snaps. The long skirt is actually full, but drapes beautifully around the doll's body. The undergarments also appear original. The outfit is in exceptionally good condition, especially considering the fabrics used and their age. There is one very tiny stain on the lower portion of the skirt that is concealed in a fold. There are no rips, tears, mends. There are no mal odors and the doll comes from a non-smoking home. Old linen shoes with ties and old stockings may be original. Finally, the doll wears a wide brim lace and satin hat, with fabric flowers. The hat was added to match her attire. This 154 is definitely a beauty and will make a stunning display. As always, you are guaranteed to have your expectations met. the doll is an outstanding example of the large, beautiful character dolls. She is willing to travel, but only within the USA and Canada. Shipping by USPS Registered Insured Mail. A flat fee of $30 will be paid by the customer. I will pay the estimated additional cost of $30 for shipping. There is no packing or handling charge which would be significant. I will only ship a doll of this size by Registered Mail. The package will never be machine sorted, but rather handled by assigned postal personnel. It is locked away and signed for at every stop and during the air flight. Your signature will be required.
