Big Gorgeous Simon Halbig Character 1294 A/O Toddler Doll

This offering is for an adorable 27" Simon & Halbig Character Doll. It is an all original 1294 marked bisque head doll on a toddler composition body. This mold is most often seen as a cross limb character baby. This large size toddler is very rare, especially in this excellent all original condition. The bisque head is free of factory flaws, damage of any type or restoration. Her blue sleep eyes function perfectly and the facial features are very detailed. She has long multi-brush stroke eyebrows. Her large expressive eyes have molded upper eye lids, with fine long hand painted lashes. Red eye corner and nostril dots are present. Her chubby cheeks are beautifully colored and have no rubs/kiss marks. Her mouth is especially appealing. Her lips are full and beautifully shaped. The mouth is open, with tongue and two upper teeth showing. The back of her head is marked "Made in/Germany/J.D.K./1294." She wears her original brown mohair wig over the original cardboard pate. The original wood and composition ball jointed body is very chunky and of substantial weight. Note the slant hip design of the toddler body. The paint is original and in very good vintage condition, except for typical wear on the joints, dark marks on the back of the legs and a few superficial scrapes. Fingers and toes are all intact. The body is marked "Made in Germany"--stamped in red on the back of the body. Dolly wears a very early slip and an ivory colored cotton, lawn weight, nightgown with a pretty collar. It is closed in the back with a single tiny button. She wears vintage wool booties--the only accessory that was added. All in all, the doll is an outstanding example of the Simon & Halbig large, beautiful character dolls. She is willing to travel, but only within the USA and Canada. Shipping by USPS Registered Insured Mail. A flat fee of $34 will be paid by the customer. I will pay the estimated additional cost of $34 for shipping. There is no packing or handling charge which would be significant, considering the size of this doll. I will only ship a doll of this size by Registered Mail. The package will never be machine sorted, but rather handled by assigned postal personnel. It is locked away and signed for at every stop and during the air flight. Your signature will be required.
