Elegant & Rare! Pair, Vintage, American, Sterling Silver, Heart Shaped, Knitting Needle Guards. Knitting needle guards were very important to the 19th century lady! They were especially useful when the 19th century lady laid the knitting aside for the day. The knitting and the needles would be placed within the guards, holding the stitches securely in place. These super, American, sterling silver, needle guards are in excellent condition. They are both hallmarked at the top of the heart: sterling. Sorry - the photographs do not show these pieces well - they are much more beautiful in real life! It is very hard to photograph silver - The photographs shows lines, etc - this is flashback from the camera - the needle guards are shiny and perfect in real life! My camera is professional and picks up EVERYTHING - even things that can't be seen by the naked eye! Both hearts are beautifully designed and are ready for your knitting!
