A very chic Cartwheel Hat from the 1940's. Black felt wide circular brim, with almost flat crown. There are very alluring peekaboo cutouts in the front of the brim (interesting sort of S curve styling). These cut-outs are filled with net. The entire effect is so very chic.
The hat features a gross grain ribbon around the brim and ornamenting the back. It also has a gross grain ribbon with elastic to be worn under the hair and to the back.
Label reads Martha Gene, New York.
This hat was created earlier than what we see Audrey Hepburn wearing in Breakfast at Tiffany's....but this definitely has that chic Holly Golightly look.
CONDITION: Excellent gently used vintage condition
SIZE: Label reads 22-1/2"
