A fantastic vintage designer Lolita Lempicka, Paris Dress. Homage to the 1940's easily seen with this dress. And definitely power dressing as only the 1980's could do. Somewhat military style with the elements seen in front, exaggerated shoulders, beautifully made.
The dress is a very dark navy, almost black. The fabric is a medium weight gabardine type fabric. It is probably a blend, as it does not wrinkle readily. Partially lined.
The style is double breasted, open notch collar, dynamic shoulder pads, straight skirt with Kick pleat in back.
Very 1940's style, but also Military style with pewter tone metal buttons in front and 4 at each sleeve. Pocket details are perfection.
A truly sexy, and somewhat daring vintage fashion as it is so powerfully designed.
ABOUT Lolita Lempicka: In 1983 Josiane and her husband Joseph, an interior designer, created their label, "Lolita Lempicka", in homage to Nabokov's novel and to the painter Tamara de Lempicka. In 1984 she and her husband opened their first boutique in Paris's Marais district, and it became an instant success.
Although her designs are often inspired by the 1940s, they always strike a playful balance between the modern and the nostalgic. She became famous for her exquisitely tailored suits, infusing classical Parisian styles with fresh femininity.
